Anyone know of any growers using sustainable/grass-fed/organic farming techniques for raising livestock in the greater Boston area? I'd love to talk to some actual farmers on the subject.

this seemed like it might be an appropriate community to ask this in though;

what would be a good resource for finding a naturopath or a homeopath or some sort of integrated healthcare type place in the boston area?

when i was living in england briefly, we drove by a sugar factory, which you think would be super awesosme and sweet smelling and magical ala charlie and the chocolate factory, but instead the air was thick with the smell of beets, which smell horrible in mass quantities.

so i'm not too much of a fan of beets now, which is a shame because we just got a bunch with this weeks order, so does anyone have any good ideas for things to do with beets?

here's a random recipe in exchange:
2 cups brown rice (cooked)
3-4 TB Vegetable oil
2 cups chopped baby carrots
1 green pepper (sliced)
3 slices onion
5-6 mushrooms
1/4 cup crushed pineapple
1/2 cup cubed (small) firm/extra firm tofu (optional)
2 TB vegan sugar
1/2 gravy ladles of lime marinade (or other marinade)
2 gravy ladles teriyaki sauce
2 TB sesame seeds
1/2 ts. Rosemary (optional)
2 ts curry powder
1/2 ts. cayenne pepper
sprinkle crushed red pepper

chard recipe [22 Apr 2005|11:28am]

I have been getting chard for the past few deliveries, and struggling with what to do with it. (I don't really like it just plain/sauteed, so I was searching for a soup or a tart/casserole or something.) I found this barley & lentil soup w/ swiss chard  on epicurious and it is great!

I have been overloaded w/ bananas too.  Any suggestions aside from banana bread?
